"Dear Chloe" is based on true accounts of the infamous painting Chloe that lives at the Young and Jackson Hotel in Melbourne, Australia. When young men fresh out of puberty were conscripted to fight in the Battle of Gallipoli, Chloe was often the only naked woman they had set eyes upon. While married men would write letters home to their wives and children, single men would write letters to Chloe, a beacon of light in a dark time. The real life Parisian model for Chloe also had her own tragic story which unfolds. ''Dear Chloe" delicately balances the lives of three characters in 19th century Paris, 20th century Melbourne and 20th century Melbourne, all connected by the infamous painting of Chloe and the ghosts that linger.
