A broadcaster for many years, Lorraine was awarded an MBE in 1998. She was used to efficiency, precision and speedy exactness in her life. But all that changed when she attended a travel show and took up the offer of a property viewing trip abroad. She had no idea that it would change her life for the foreseeable decade and a half. Lorraine and her husband did what many couples did in the heady days of the new millennium and bought a second home in the sun, finally finding their dream casa in Spain. This is the story of their glimpses into a slower pace of life, and the stresses and strains that only a "sí, mañana" can bring. On her journey, Lorraine almost makes a new home for Coronation Street; introduces her friend, actress, Sherrie Hewson (Joyce Temple Savage in ITV's 'Benidorm') to Japanese food; and declines an invitation to become one of Costa Blanca's new voices on the airwaves. A case of mistaken identity nearly has Lorraine joining a swingers' group, and she also finds out about life in Spain as a disabled person when she has a spell as a wheelchair user.
