Ducks Across the Moon
Ken Ohm
Ducks Across the Moon is a personal glimpse into the daily lives and times of WWII-era rural Kansas. Ken Ohm spent his early elementary school years with his family as they scraped out a living on an eighty acre farm in the Flint Hills. His lifelong fascination with the Hills is reflected in unique details of this special place. The author earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Emporia State University in Kansas and his doctorate from the University of Wyoming. Nearing the end of a fifty-year science and mathematics teaching career, he currently teaches mathematics at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. After winning two recent national senior championships in the javelin throw, he attributed his success to throwing flintstones at fence posts during his early childhood days in the Flint Hills.
