When local lout, Charlie Tailor, washes up dead in front of the Tini Tiki Bar everybody in St. Augustine gets involved finding his killer. The first question is, who DIDN'T want him dead? Perhaps a certain dog 'nose' more than anyone else. New police chief, Tommy Hannigan, a transplant from Boston to Florida is not only going through culture shock and an adjustment to sun and alcohol-soaked tourist antics, he now has a murder on his hands with more "help" than he would prefer. Including the local busybody Chilli, her dogs, a diva gift shop owner out for blood, an ex-sheriff with a bovine fascination, suspicious tourist attraction owners, a cat with attitude, some crazy dolphins and a very tipsy pelican.
