Welcome to Wyoming State Zoo. When the gates first opened in July 2017, the zoological park was one of the newest in the country. Located on the outskirts of Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA, the young park has quickly gone from strength to strength. The zoo is divided into several large, themed sections, the most expansive of which is African Savannah-home to some of the park's largest occupants. Other areas include the Outback Experience (featuring animals from Australia and the Pacific), Southern Jungles (big and little beasts from the wilds of South America) and the American Wilderness (crowd favourites from the open plains of Arizona to the woods of Maine). Gypsum Sound Tails is a collection of stories by some of our favourite authors, each of which takes place in and around the fictional Wyoming State Zoo in Cheyenne, Wyoming (one of only a few US states that doesn't have a zoo in it's capital city).
