The Empress Inverted Elizabeth Cain
The Empress Inverted
Elizabeth Cain
Rose, a theater teen and amateur mystic, is in for another normal year of classes, stage productions, and secret Tarot readings. When she and her friends meet Leah, the group quickly form a bond, welcoming her into their ranks. But that bond is shaken when Rose suggests communicating with a spirit in the old theater on Halloween night, and a fearful Leah objects. Undeterred, Rose and the others perform the ritual, and soon regret it. Strange things begin happening around the theater, endangering the upcoming performance. Worse, Leah becomes more and more withdrawn, refusing to communicate with anyone. Determined to help their tormented friend, Rose and the others begin to probe for information. Just what did Rose call up? What does it have to do with Leah's depression? The answers may lie in their town's sordid history, of which few living people have any knowledge. But how much are the dead willing to say?
