Five years after the battle for Gommorn, rumors begin to spread that the tyrant king still lives and is plotting revenge in the east. The good general, Armond, goes to dispel the rumors and vanishes wihtout a trace into the depths of the forbiden wasteland. In desperation, the King of Azar calls upon Oswald, one of the last remaining wizards, to go out and find the missing general but he soon finds that waste is not without its dangers. The land is a barren desert brimming with magic, monsters, and death, and finding the missing general is only the beginning of his troubles.
