India As Seen by Babur (1504-1530 A.D) Prof Nath

India as seen by Babur (1504-30, A. D.) is a compilation, commentary and critique of Babur's observations of India and Indian things, from 1504 to 1530 A. D. He wrote his Memoirs day to day, in the form of a diary, chronologically, in accordance with his movements, and persons, places and events were intermixed with his itinerary. Hence, it has been divided into seven chapters, including the Introductory chapter on Babur himself, site-and-subject-wise, making each an independent one. Attempt has been made to identify the places he described and correct the terms he used by giving denotary deshi equivalents, side by side. His expressions, as translated by Beveridge, have been simplified and the historical content of his narrative has been retrieved from cumbersome details and chronological labyrinths. Some important relevant data has been given in the Appendices. Illustrations (Figures and Plates) have also been inserted for this purpose. Beveridge's notes and annotations have been overwhelmingly revised and updated. All this makes it an altogether new work on Babur, in a new format
