This is a story of a 10-year-old African young boy Ebuka who was happy to embrace secondary school (high school) life. However, he was disappointed to discover that his school was the direct opposite of what he had expected. His hopes were dashed to the ground. Instead of quality academic life, he was confronted by the lack of seriousness of the teaching staff. Being a victim of so many vices, he planned a very strategic act of revenge which completely redirected the entire course of his lifestyle. He battled between a disciplined lifestyle and life of rascality which was his only way of getting his revenge. In this storybook "Everything Counts," Ebuka recounts his experiences at school, not just the lack of seriousness of the teachers but also of bullying and sexual abuse. Most importantly, he narrates how he travailed through these difficult moments yet succeeded in having a very meaningful future and happy life. The author of this book is typically African. He develops this story based on the true-life experiences of his childhood. Most of the storylines are what he shares with his teen friends in Western Africa. "Everything Counts" captures greatly the situation of things at his young or early life. He looks back to his early life, especially after he relocated to the West to further his education and career. The author is passionate about changing the order of things from bad to good. He is a prolific writer, a resilient and determined young man with a big God and big dreams. He hopes through this book to reach out to some teenagers who share similar stories with him and to identify with students who are still passing through the same experience in different parts of the world.
