Akinyi is a brave and kind young African girl who lives with her grandparents in the village. In this series, she is playing football with her friends, when they suddenly kick her red ball into the dreaded forest. With everyone afraid of going into the forest, Akinyi must find the courage within to look for her ball. Her adventures into the forest includes encounters with the cheerful monkey who guides her to the old ugly wizard who lives with rabbits. Eventually Akinyi discovers her ball is not just an ordinary ball, but a "red magic ball" that magically finds it's way back to the owner.
