Book Two of Valiant Young Men-Heroes of Flight, the story of James Norman Hall. Jimmy enlisted in the British infantry when WWI broke out. Later he became a founding member of the Escadrille Lafayette, the French fighter group for American volunteers. When the U. S. officially entered the war, he was appointed a captain in the famed 94th "Hat-in-the-Ring" squadron and mentored Eddie Rickenbacker. He was shot down three times by the Germans and spent the last six months of the war as a POW in Landshut, where he led a most unusual escape. In peacetime Hall settled in Tahiti and co-authored the classic work, "Mutiny on the Bounty."
