Grimm has been trying to find a decent assistant for the last two hundred thousand years. This year has been the worst. One had a nervous breakdown and left to start an accountancy business, and the other has moved to the north to engage in a large-scale mass-murder. Grimm is going to have to travel north and confront his turn cloak apprentice. Grimm, James (ex-reaper and accountant), Demetria, (enthusiastic sales-rep and Heir to Earth), and Gloom (neurotic bat) have to get to Marnmouth in time to stop Thane's evil plans. Will Grimm finally find the perfect reaping candidate? Only the Mother knows.
