Legend of Fear John Bang
Legend of Fear
John Bang
Why? I've been banished from Heaven, sent down to the realm of mortals. All I'm able to do is try and live with them, understand them, help them better themselves. But when I look around, I see death and destruction as far as the universe can stretch. They slaughter each other, invade lands, kill those unable to resist, give each other diseases, starve one another...they've shown me true darkness. When I look into her eyes, however, I can see the light, I can see a better future. Good things do not come for free, good men do not rise from rich homes or fat bellies. We will get through this suffering, we will end the war the Angels have forced onto the mortals. When we climb this mountain, we'll look out at a brighter universe. Mortals and angels living together, helping each other struggle through a life destined for hardship. We demand freedom, Angels and Mortals alike. We demand the freedom to choose our religion, the words that come out of our mouths, our right to own weapons to protect ourselves, the right to do as we wish with our lives without asking permission from those who sit on thrones of gold... We demand the freedom to merely exist. This freedom is not represented by an Angel, or being of any sort. It lives in all those who are willing to fight, to scream, to die for it. When we struggle against the Darkness, we will cry out our anthems of free will. When they kill us, our last breath will be in defiance. When they cast their banner over our territories, we will do everything we can to make their occupation a living hell. This is the Legend of Fear, the story of our fight to make a better future for our children.
