Hayden is sent home from school with her classmates and told they will be on a little vacation, but as she finds out, it isn't a vacation at all. It is a pandemic. She misses her friends, her school, and her favorite cookies, but she also learns to find joy and compassion during this time. She then realizes that, while a pandemic certainly isn't a vacation, there can be important and special moments as well. This story is how the pandemic feels through the eyes of a child. It is highly relatable and a great discussion provoking story for classrooms as well.
