The Unclosing Eye
Jillian Anaya
Sheldon Mazer has a lot on his mind. The town he moved to is a bit, what you might call, strange. Darkwell is not your typical place. Sure, the people are friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant, but there is something wrong with the woods. Sheldon has lived in Darkwell for three years but is now noticing that there may be a problem. They have no cell phone service or internet, but the real dilemma is that the plants are taking over, and no one seems to notice. To complicate matters, Sheldon lives in isolation after the death of his father. His mom, Penelope, is great, but Sheldon doesn't want to trouble her with the bizarre things he's been hearing and seeing, like the strange horn sounding in the Deep Pines Forest or the tree roots cracking the pavement all over town. He hasn't entirely given up hope, however. New neighbors and a new kid at school might just help him bring harmony to Darkwell.
