Terra Wells is a zoologist, well-renowned in her field, but there's a secret to her success, she can turn into the very animals she's researching. When she discovers there are others like her she must decide whom she can trust and how much she's willing to give up to belong. Terra never knew anyone else with her abilities, but while on a research assignment in the Colorado Rocky Mountains she comes across wolves that are distinctly unnatural. Hopeful that she may have finally found her own kind, Terra seeks them out but soon discovers that there's more than one type of shape-changer in the world and neither one of them believes she is what she says she is. Now, both groups are fighting to get her and Terra must decide if she dares to take her place among them.
