Hex of the Golden Scrolls: The Last Divine Scroll
William David Pappa
In this world, elemental magic had been obtained through prolonged meditative stargazing that ended a long war before history. Extensive stargazing was possible using scrolls that turned those affected into metallic statues.
Two centuries after the long war, sixty Golden Scrolls were created. This allowed century long meditations to further advance the art of magic. However, the ritual required to create the Golden Scrolls was lost.
Once the desire for magic knowledge drained out from the world, the scrolls became useful for incarceration and warding off starvation (along with another much darker usage). The last of the Golden Scrolls had been used to aid a group of siblings who lost their home after the Great Tremor.
Now, the last sibling is about to awaken...and realize a newfound magic power never seen or felt in the world's history of magic.
