Heart Thoughts Melissa Riggio

Poetry has been a part of my life ever since I was a small child. I began writing poetry and short stories, but always kept them to myself. In high school, I began to share my poetry and stories with friends and classmates. I received great reviews and kind words of encouragement to write more, to write for a living, not just from my classmates but from my teachers, as well. It took a while, but I finally went to college and earned a cum laude English degree in the honors program. From there, I have published my first short story titled "Mockingbird," which is in The Manchac Review. My first novel, "Echo," a coauthored romance, was published in March 2020 and earned its first award--the Author Shout Reader Ready "Recommended Read" award--in July 2020. My newest poetry compilation, "Heart Thoughts," is a compilation of a few of the poems I've written over time. it's all words and thoughts true to my heart, my mind, my life.
