Bobby Gordon
At age sixteen Bobby is excited to go to New York City on his own. He is amazed when a foreign woman offers him a handful of ancient gold coins. He goes to his aunt's apartment nearby to get money to pay, but when he returns the woman is dead, her throat cut. A girl is keening over her body. The girl is beautiful, but she and the coins seem to get Bobby and his family into trouble. He gets beaten up three times. His eccentric family hatches a plan to find out: Who is attacking him? Why? How can we catch them and stop them? Bobby and his aunt are automatically involved in the police investigation and they have to take care of the girl. They don't understand what she says. They need to find someone from her family, but the person who killed her mother might be a relative. Eventually they find some relatives of hers, but who can they trust? This book describes the adventures involved in finding answers to these questions.
