Layla's Adventures - Book 1 Lisa Gu

Lisa and Anna Gu (the author of Layla's Spying Mission - Book 1: Discovering the Black Monster) are identical twins born in China in 2008. Their mom was diagnosed with colon cancer in January 2020. Each of them is writing a series about their mom's cancer journey. They started writing in March 2020 during the pandemic of Covid-19. The books are written from Layla's perspective. Layla is their dog's name. This is the first book of their series. With fantastic imagination, they wrote incredible stories that are great fun to read. You may enjoy Layla's spying mission and adventures on sneaking to school, to each doctor's appointment, to the hospital, and to many interesting places with a very special mysterious friend in her mind (Anna's book) and many kinds of animal friends she has made (Lisa's book). Besides this series, each of them published two more books, one was a chapter book they wrote in third grade, and the other is the first book of another series, also about animals. Anna's series is called Tales of Animals, and Lisa's series is called Paws and Tails.
