The year is 2280. More important than the date, the lifestyle of relative peace and plenty beyond any envisioned by humankind defined the era of Null world. All thanks to the energy crystals found in the Crystal Prime dimension. Crystals that provided a seeming unlimited supply of energy for Null inventions. Null had science, but Crystal Prime had magic. For over two hundred years, since the discovery of the alternate dimension, the Corporation controlled trade and transfers between the realms. Few people were allowed the amazing opportunity to make the hugely expensive transfer, though the holofeeds and stories kept the adventure of the fantasy realm that was Crystal Prime alive in the public's mind. But something changed. The Corporation asked the five conglomerates of the world to produce five of their very best for a new transfer procedure, one that would give capabilities beyond anyone's wildest dreams. For ten years the program to find these five candidates had met with sabotage and assassination. Three months before the candidates were to be sent, they were taken out in terrorists acts like the world hadn't seen for hundreds of ears. In desperation the Corporation turned to the forecasting software that had been giving the chilling news of yet another dimension, hostile and hungry. This software gave them the names of five men and women as the most effective candidates to battle the unknown.
