In the far future, advances in science and technology have enabled humans to live in a harmonious society without crime, war or hunger. The people at that time have virtually eternal life. Although the technology enabling time travel was available, it has been forbidden by law. This was based on the belief that travelling in time would disturb the train of events in the history of mankind. Al-Akbar 510120, a young scientist, challenges the theories behind this belief. He proposed to the conservative world Academy to travel to the past to test these theories by changing the outcome of "The Battle of Waterloo" during the Napoleonic Wars. The Academy did not approve his proposal, but allowed him to travel to the same period-the French Revolution-to change a less significant event. Al-Akbar (called by his friends Al) arrived to the past with a new identity established for him as Count Alexander de Bois, who was presumed to be the nephew of Count Émile de Bois, a nobleman who died without any relative to inherit his title. He arrives with the advanced technology of his time with unlimited recourses and with a large number of bioteks. A biotek is a machine in a human body. It is built with human organs but supplied with an atomic energy source, and its brain is programmed to perform a particular task. Al establishes himself at the family estate at Mont de Marsan in Gascony, where he acquires new experiences and be involved in several adventures. He moves to Paris and the Versailles, where he became acquainted with the court life and he became the favourite of the King and the Queen. He immerses himself in the pre-revolution atmosphere and witnesses the injustice that triggered the Revolution. He became a close friend with both the Cordeliers and Girondists and he was regarded as a Cordelier. He became involved in the revolutionary events and went through several adventures. He was arrested by the mop of Paris and was almost hanged, but was saved at the last moment. Al suffered through the terror of the revolution and witnessed the bloodshed of innocent people and the death of his closest friends. He participated in the European war and the French war efforts. Al had fallen in love and/or had relation to several women belonging to both aristocrats and commoners. The novel describes the adventures and love affairs of a man from the future provided with the superpower of the modern technology in a period of time filled with rapidly developing events. It also throws light on one of the most contradictory period sof time in the human history: The ideals of the revolution and declaration the human rights were ended in massacre and terror.
