Living Loving Learning in an Angry World
Jay Burchfield
We are unique individuals in one way or another. Our personalities are different as well as many of our personal preferences. We differ in the type of entertainment we enjoy and the way we spend our leisure time. These differences extend into very personal areas of our lives including our religious beliefs and the priority we place on our morals and values. It is not surprising that humans cope with their emotions in various ways with varying degrees of success. We all seem to be rather proficient at handling our positive emotions such as joy, happiness and love. The difficulty comes in effectively ruling over negative emotions such as blame, shame, guilt and negative anger. After more than twenty years of working with those who are experiencing or have experienced the negative effects of anger, we have developed six basic anger management tools. When used with purpose and conviction, these tools have proven to be highly effective in controlling and managing negative anger. We pray that this book will be a part of a peaceful revolution in an angry America and an angry world. Without biblical insights and sincere tool application, this world will only become more angry, both outside and inside the global Christian Church.
