An extra-large print book for German-speaking elders (or others) with very low vision -- plus coloring pages. Dr. Celia Ross has designed books on many topics and various languages to serve our diverse elder communities. For senior activities programs, occupational therapy, gifts, and more. Book Summary: This is a story about a mother starting to emotionally heal after the loss of her young son, a talented musician and connecting with his memory & spirit through the songs that he wrote. The scene is a party. The storyteller gazes out the window and observes two people riding horses along the beach in the evening. - the splendor of the mirror-smooth animals and the splendor in the sea, stimulated by the waves, horses and riders in mirror formations, shadow dancers in front of the wide air and water space.... the playing and dancing horse figures. It was like music.... It is implied that the land and the ocean are used in this story as a metaphor for this world and eternity touching along the waterline. The storyteller thinks of the party hostess who lost her son to illness (the description appears to be pneumonia) and was filled with grief. The storyteller asks the mother to sing a song that her son wrote. The storyteller observes -- And when she sang one of the last of his songs, a wonderful thing happened before my eyes ..... Her eyes regained a youthful brightness as the music was inhaled. ..... And I imagined mother and her son riding along together on the beach of eternity on two large, spirit-horses, each the embodiment of a destiny....
