When the royal guards took William's father, he insisted Vampirstein, the queen's son, take him to meet the queen and ask for his father back. But the queen is not responsible for what is happening in town. Lazarus, the queen's husband, and Vampirstein's stepfather is the one responsible for taking people from the street and their houses to go work in the mine and dig diamond for him, and Vampirstein has a plan to stop him and set the people free. Vampirstein set out with two of his friends, William and Beatrix, to rescue the people that are forced to work at the mine, but things aren't that simple. Lazarus found out Vampirstein is a vampire, and he set a trap for him after poisoning his mother, the queen, and imprisoning her in the castle. But Vampirstein refuse to give up even if it means handing himself over to his wicked stepfather in order for him to free his mother and younger sister. But, Vampirstein's friend refuse to let him hand himself over to his evil stepfather without a fight, and together they came up with a plan on how best to defeat Lazarus, rescue the queen and his younger daughter and take back the castle.
