A young woman named Crimson Rose is born into a world where a race of Victorian vampires called Purosangue are the ruling species. The sangues use humans the same way humans use livestock. Rose is a blood slave, which is basically a pet, born with the intention of being the most beautiful and obedient blood bank for their owner. Rose is owned by Lord Damian Smith. He raises her from birth but he makes the mistake of giving her learning tools and she has a sharp mind. She teaches herself to be just as intelligent as the sangues and need for freedom starts to grow inside of her. This prompts her to escape her cruel master and go on a epic journey that changes her life forever.
