There are so many misconceptions as it relates to true deliverance. The main misconception that I believe must be addressed is the road map or path to deliverance. Deliverance is not one of those things whereby if everyone does it the same way, everyone all will arrive at the same result. That's not the way it works. Two different people can be suffering from the "same thing" but the road map for deliverance can be completely different. Different paths can move you to a place that seems to be the same place as someone else. However, the address to that place might look the same, but the truths behind the two places are completely different. When you began to deal with a prescription for deliverance one must be able to separate what is a symptom from a root cause or a root issue. For so long people have attacked the symptoms of an issue rather than the issue itself. The problem with this is when you medicate or treat symptoms you provide an avenue for infection to be created in different areas. The dangerous part is the new symptoms are worse than the first. 43 "When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, seeking rest but finding none. 44 Then it says, 'I will return to the person I came from.' So it returns and finds its former home empty, swept, and in order. 45 Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before. That will be the experience of this evil generation." Matthew 12:43-45 NLTWhen a person gets delivered from the root issue every symptom that is connected to that root is destroyed. The very desire and gratification that offers fulfillment of the symptom becomes eradicated. You cannot and will not be totally free when all you address is "effects" and not its "cause". Just as we are taught in grade school, the same is true in deliverance. Where there is a "cause" there will always be an "effect". Let me say it this way: Symptoms are "effects", events are "causes".
