The only life Daelin knows is being the son of a fisherman in the city of South Elgar. His real parents are a mystery, having left him in a basket on the docks with nothing but a ring inscribed with his name. He's never before tasted adventure or seen real magic at work. But when a team of famous heroes arrive in town, all that changes. Daelin departs with them on a perilous journey to discover his own mysterious past and obtain power the likes of which he'd never dreamed.
