In his debut novel, author, tinkerer, fabricator, and maker, R. C. Copper opens the doors to the world of The Ximimix, a sentient crystaline lifeforce capable of reproducing native life. It's offspring live among us, tiny versions of us with extraordinary power and the will to survive. One group, four families, thousands to feed, and a world of giant monsters as their only source of food. They got lucky and stumbled upon a home, a bunker with alien vehicles and technology. Now crawlers, giant multi-legged, armored vehicles protect them and allow them to hunt for small predators while trying to avoid the larger ones. Rollers, 10 wheeled tanks, are tasked with retrieving the Crawlers when they don't come back. And they usually don't come back. Their hope lies in a strange crystal they found in the bunker so long ago, the key to the strange technology keeping them alive, the technology that seems to now be decaying around them. But, people need to eat. And so they hunt. And die. And hunt.
