These people abduct her in the middle of the night, and after murdering her boyfriend in front of her, they imprison her for months while she develops the project. When she completes the project, the leader of her abductors takes her to a remote location in snow covered mountains, removes her clothes and maroons her. He plans for her to die of exposure.
