When Jesus ascended into the heavens to sit at God's right hand, He said He would not leave us alone, and that He would send the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, to be with us and in us. Jesus wants to live His life through us. The purpose of this is to use us to restore the sinful man to God. In addition to this, we also need to understand that the presence and power of God is available to the church in order to take this good news of salvation to a world that is in darkness. God so desperately wants to release His power through us, and set free those who are bound!
