I believe scientists need have social responsibilities, because if they can do reasonable social responsibility of behaviors, then it represents that they have good moral performance to concern whether their any scientific researchs are only considered themselves benefits for intention, even if their scientifical researchs can harm human's safety. who will neglect on the possible poor effects, due to their immoral scientific invention or research. For example, nuclear invention can be good thing, if it is applied to space flight energy, or earth energy to avoid vehicle oil, or any transportation tool, e.g. gas, oil shortage in the future one day. But if nuclear invention is applied to produce nuclear bomb. Then, it will influence human's life safety. For DNA example, if DNA is applied to detect any criminal behavior cases to find whom are the criminal people had done any crimes . If DNA is applied to medical health aspect, it can bring hosptial patients or police force advantages. If DNA is applied to grow good taste or big size of fruit or vegetable or beef or port etc. different kind of food to provide to human to eat in order to avoid our food shortage challenge occurrence in future one day. It can solve food shortage challenge, but if DNA is applied to reproduce human ourselves or any animals themselves. It is immoral scientific research and it is immoral social responsible behavior to the scientists, although it is not illegal research in nowadays law system. For animal scientist morality, there are reasons why animal scientists need to concern genetically modified animals are produced 1. To help scientists to identify, isolate and characterise genes in order to understand more about their function and regulation. Genetic modification can be used to knock out the activity of a particular gene. By correlating loss of function with this "knock out" it is possible to gain information about the role of the gene and the product for which it codes.2. To provide research models of human diseases, to help develop new drugs and new strategies for repairing defective genes ("gene therapy").
