Mystika Saam Hasan
Mystika
Saam Hasan
Challenging beliefs has always been one of the most fundamental aspects of human thinking. As intelligent beings, we like to ask questions, we want to know if what is being portrayed as the truth, is actually so. Often times, this tendency also leads us to cast doubt on history; especially when it comes to winners and losers. Did the side who won actually do so through merit and competence, or were there nefarious means involved?Mystika is a world not much unlike our own. Yes, this civilization is centred round magic and the supernatural, but the core human emotions remain the same. Empires and nations clash over political gains and over the wounds of past defeats, the most evil among men start ascending to power, and the ones fighting on the side of good constantly face near insurmountable odds. At the heart of this tale is the Darken Viahl. According to the known history of Mystika, it was this mystical power that saved the realm from near certain destruction at the hands of the dark magicians, millennia ago. As the ashes of that battle settled, the custodianship of the Viahl had been awarded to the Anvir Empire. With time, the might of the Anvirs grew, as did their territory. But despite the overwhelming dominance of one superpower, the world was at peace. However this was not meant to last, as conspiracies and tensions begin to rise between Anvir and the other nations; instigated by a long-running plot aimed at returning Mystika to its former chaos. Moreover, these plotters were not driven by greed for power and wealth, but rather the truth behind what really happened in the old war. A truth shrouded for ages by falsified accounts of history. And only a handful of chosen ones have the power to stop the evil ones from emerging victorious this time.
