Simone Pomiere was deceived by a Frenchman while she was studying painting in Paris. After discovering his deception, Simone flees Paris for the picturesque countryside of Provence where her grandmere Coco owns a lavender and sunflower farm. Before Simone leaves to return to America, Coco gifts her with the beautiful antique watch which was given to Coco by her late husband Claude. From that moment on, the beautiful watch is the only jewelry Simone wears. Once back in America, Simone settles in Bluewater, Florida where she makes use of her graduate degree as a licensed psychologist. She enjoys her counseling work, yet she yearns for the day when she can open her own art gallery and studio. Men come and go, but Simone is particular and is looking for a man with a soul-one she identifies as her one and only soulmate. A chance meeting with Luke Walker takes her totally off balance. Complications arise not only with Luke, but also with his parents. As things straighten out with Luke, Simone knows this is the man she has been looking for-this man is her soulmate. Luke has his own personal issues resulting in his proclaiming that he will never get married or have children. More trouble comes Simone's way at work where she has to deal with the conniving Nicole Collins, another therapist who wants Simone's position.
