Seven-year-old African American Jarom James witnesses the brutal assault and murder of his parents at the hands of three law enforcement agents that were employed by his parents. Surviving the night with memories that haunt him, a cryptic message, and a locket from his father, Jarom swears he will get revenge for his parent's murder. As Jarom grows he learns that the business his father and uncle created is actually a front for the largest drug organization on the east coast and their true purpose isn't about making money. While in high school, Jarom battles with his inner demons and memories of the night his parents were murdered begin to shape the man he is becoming. Since his parents death, the Enterprise has been run by his Uncle Nathaniel and his Aunt Tayler and they both see a different future for their organization. As they battle to steer the Enterprise in their chosen direction, Jarom is faced with a difficult decision when he unearths the true Code of the Streets, and learns the Enterprise's true purpose is a revolution on law enforcement meant to destabilize the government and eradicate the crippling grips of injustice and poverty. With his need to exact revenge driving his every move Jarom must choose to accept his role in the Enterprise or seek out his parents killers. While his Aunt Taylor and Uncle Nathaniel battle for the direction of The Enterprise, Jarom has to choose between embracing the path of his parents or turn his back on his birthright.
