Jerome the Pig James Allen Moseley
Jerome the Pig
James Allen Moseley
Jérôme comes from a long line of prize-winning truffle-snuffing pigs in the lovely French countryside of Périgord. But on his first truffle hunt, Jérôme turns out to be allergic to truffles - he cannot snuffle them without breaking out uncontrolled sneezing. His parents, Monsieur and Madame de Pig, fear for their little piglet. Only their value as truffle snuffers sets the de Pig family apart from other pigs and keeps Farmer Grognard from converting them into a Christmas ham. Ashamed and afraid, Jérôme runs away from home. He ends up in Paris, where dangers abound even more than back on the farm. There he learns something special about himself. Jérôme may not be able to smell truffles without sneezing, but he has the unusual gift off being able to smell danger. Befriended by a colony of artists, musicians, and authors at the Tartuffe Literary Café, Jérôme uses his unique gift to save Paris from a dreadful cell of anarchists and ends up, with his family and friends in proud attendance, at the Élysée Palace, receiving the Légion d'honneur from the President of France.
