Melanin Expressions is a powerful, empowered collection of poetry and prose. This book is a celebration of my melanin color; an exclamation of the love I have for myself and my people. Each word celebrates, liberates, and empowers the reader to love their whole self, but also to educate those misunderstood on what true acceptance of others is. My hope is through these poems, black people find solace and comfort in hearing how wonderful, brilliant, and exceptional they are, especially in a time where the world tries to convince them otherwise.
