Based on tales from L'Morte de Arthur, this is the story of Sir Beolind, the Knight With Two Swords, his brother Bauwand, told through the eyes of his faithful squire Lachlan. Starting with how he became the Knight With Two Swords, through his travels both in Arthur's service and in exile, to the epic Dolorous Stroke which destroyed two kingdoms, and finally to the tragedy of his death, this retelling gives a fly-on-the-wall view of this iconic story. In his own words: "I am but a poor squire, and not a cleric well learned in the ways of words and letters, yet I wit I ween them enough to make this account of my master, Beolind, and the Tale of the Dolorous Stroke."
