I read Being Silly, Not a Bully to my 1st graders. It is the first one in the Discovering The Difference series and a short chapter book that is highly engaging. The children were buzzing about the topics and had a lot in common with the characters. Using the questions in the back, we had a lively discussion. Not only did they learn more about standing up for themselves and others, they learned about being kind and accepting others regardless of culture and ethnicity. I was lucky enough to have Myrna available online to talk with my students and answer questions. This was quite a treat and an amazing experience for them! All of my future students will enjoy more books in the series. Myrna is truly an amazing author!

When Miriam moved to Mystic Valley, she didn't anticipate being teased, bullied, and rejected. Tempest, her new classmate, made it clear that her kind were not welcome.

Find out in this anti-bullying book how Miriam, with the help of her new friend Val, learns valuable life skills about kindness, diversity, cultural differences, and inclusion.

The new children's book series, Discovering the Difference, was developed to help children learn important distinctions necessary to live a more empowered life.

Unique to the series is a fun, interactive section for children to answer questions to learn more about themselves. Also included are questions for parents, educators, and counselors to use as a guide to reinforce the learning and to share their own insights and stories about teasing and bullying.
