The Other Way Round
Rob Pearson
In The Wrong Way Round we managed to turn a 150 mile 41 lock 2 week maiden voyage into a 650 mile 441 lock 4 month epic. And when we got there we didn't like it! Also we had family issues - and that family lived close to where we set off from Norbury, so we changed to plan K (part 2) and went back to Norbury The Other Way round, this time a mere 390 mile 188 lock 4 month jaunt. With our wealth of experience of What Could Prossibly Go Wrong we survived 2 near sinkings, cruised in a white-out blizzard, went ice breaking for the first time, bought another boat for a whopping £1, we made lots of new friends, Hekla became a commercial vessel and we ended up with our first family Xmas and New Year on Hekla. From the Chesterfield Canal to Boston to Leeds to Skipton to Wigan to Leigh to Manchester to Warrington to Middlewich to Ellesmere Port to Chester to Sandbach to Northwich to Nantwich to Coven to Norbury. As you can see (if you have any sense of Geography) there are several U turns in that lot, but hey! This is what 'Living The Dream' is all about, Shirley?
