As a wounded warrior, Bill Lentsch knows the frustrating feelings of apparent helplessness and hopelessness. A sea-going Marine on the cruiser USS Vincennes at the beginning of World War II, he was a "hot shell catcher".

The story of Bill's survival when the Vincennes sank is a story of miracles and of contrasts:
