The Miracle Carder Ernesto Zavala
The Miracle Carder
Ernesto Zavala
Don Jose's little son suffers from a disease that doctors cannot cure. His leg is full of tumors and sores. Pain prevents him and his parents from living life without suffering. Desperate and in anguish from his son's suffering, Don Jose kneels at the foot of Virgin Mary Help of Christians, thought by some holy people as "Most Powerful Help of God" and "Help to the sick". Don Jose asks the Virgin to grant him the miracle of curing his child, swearing that he will devote his life to building a church in her name. Years later, a group of Salesian priests would open the promised church, in the Barrio of Maria Auxiliadora, in San Cristobal de Las Casas, but this would not be the only miracle where the Virgin would manifest before Don Jose and his dearest friend Doña Chabelita.
