The true story of Germaine Bessard, a young woman living in the Forbidden Zone in Besançon, France, during the WWII German occupation who gets drawn into the French Resistance. Her involvement leads to her arrest and imprisonment by the Nazis, and later to a pursuit by the Gestapo. After the war, she received national and international recognition from many official organizations including one from Charles de Gaulle and one from the British Royal Air Force for her courage and involvement in a network of the Resistance that helped free over 6,000 prisoners of war, Jews, and downed British pilots.
