Excerpt: OWN YOUR HURTWe beat ourselves up for being hurt by things the world says we shouldn't. One of the most prevalent is when we give everything we have and there is no reciprocity. Well I don't know about you, but I've been scalded by this one. It hurts to know your relationships are based on you giving and never receiving. It is not strong or 'spiritual' to pretend we aren't bothered by things that eat at us inside. It has taken me my whole life to admit I am hurt by nonreciprocal family members and friends. I admit it, feel the pain of it, which lessens with the admittance and then I go on with my life. I am human, you are human, we get to feel what we feel. We also get to get over it and live. I was asked to write a devotional, but decided instead to pen, not quite a devotional. A devotional is often filled with scriptures and not quite a devotional is not... though it is certainly filled with faith, thanks to God and belief. I know as a woman, that sometimes we just want honesty, straight talk and even the opinions of other women, women we trust, admire or just simply want to hear from.
