Gracie and the Land of the Magical Butterflies
Linda Lou Larson
Ten-year-old, Gracie lives in a perfect town called Strawberry. She has loving parents, a goofy teacher, and delightfully silly friends. But there are no strawberries in her town, nor real grass, trees, birds, or butterflies. All there is fake, except for the people. Gracie yearns for them to be real and bring them back. One night she dreams of a funny butterfly named Petunia who talks. Petunia becomes real and take Gracie to Mystery Mountain to find her Grandfather who lives at the top with the magical talking butterflies. On the way, Petunia is full of jokes and delights brave Gracie. They meet also talking creatures, the Invisible people, and a mysterious boy named Angus. There is danger on the mountain from a cougar and a fire. Gracie learns the magical secrets of Grandfather, Angus, the mountain, and the butterflies, and changes her town forever.
