Once upon a time in a sleepy little hollow of the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, there lived a certain people called Sparkers. They had magical powers. They could shape shift and throw fire. Over the years, their people were scattered in the four directions. Their magic was outlawed and frowned upon. Soon no one believed in them anymore and they were forgotten. They only lived on in the legends told to children. The town became a tourist attraction because of the river that flowed past it. But it never really grew. Becky Sue hadn't planned to be stuck in this tourist trap of a town, but, as fate would have it, she was. It wasn't all that bad if you could avoid the match makers and gossip mongers. And she did, most the time. She had finally become content, or maybe it was more like resigned, with her little shop in the heart of "down town" Thunderhead. There never was much excitement, until now. Ray had seen the silver lining, took the first bus out of town, and hadn't looked back. Until now. Some one is running drugs through his hometown and he's the only one who can infiltrate the tight knit town to find out who it is. While the gossip mongers are hard at work, they don't really cotton to strangers. Ray enlists his long time friend, Becky Sue, to help him uncover the drug ring, but what they find is much more sinister and dangerous. Are dark secrets of a long forgotten people about to wreck havoc, beginning in the mountains they call home?
