It seems that liberalism is no longer merely a political orientation, but has turned into an overarching ethos or worldview - almost a quasi-religion. This book describes the evolution of the liberal or "progressive" side of the political spectrum into first, an alternative system of piety - a virtue-signaling, non-religious moral creed; and then, into what it is today: an intolerant, repressive orthodoxy which its adherents attempt with Draconian zeal to impose on all citizens.
