The Epic of Gilgamesh is one of the oldest pieces of literature that dates to around the Third Dynasty of Ur in early Sumerian times, approximately 2150-2000 BC. The Epic is a poem that was preserved in Cuneiform on clay tablets and translated to eventually be what we read in current times. This is the retailing of the seven days of Enkidu's transformation from wild man to civilized companion.
