Hawaiian Art Stories III

Most stories in ancient Hawai'i were created by the people, using myth and legend to amplify their power. Every story holds a lesson and I want to create images that bring these lessons to life and reflect the greatness of ancient Hawai'i. Please look carefully at these designs as they hold some elements that cannot be expressed in words but take you on a journey through your ancestral path or link you to your ?aum?kua in a way you cannot explain. These are the ancient stories handed down through the many generations of my family as told by my tutu. As time went on, these stories manifested in my dreams as illustrations and Hawaiian Art Stories was born. As a descendant from the Great Kingdom of Hawai'i, I greatly wish that future generations hold onto these myths and legends so they do not fade away and can be perpetuated for future generations to come. It is my sincere hope that this book will bring families together to enjoy the art of Hawaiian storytelling.
