What do you believe in? Beliefs are the basis of how life is interpreted. So what should we consider when facing how to interpret life's difficulties? How do beliefs in reality effect our life as we journey through trials and tribulations? What is a framework of belief and why is it important to recovery? What is recovery and, are those with illness the only ones that need to face recovery? Can we see the bigger picture? What is necessary to move the world forward to a place where reality is digestible, more accurate, and all people can face recovery together? These are some of the questions that are discussed in this work. What Do You Believe In is meant to make you think about just that. This writing is meant to be a little provocative, but not crude. The goal is to make one think and see the bigger picture of how our interconnected nature is misrepresented in this world. Bringing light to how and why we are all connected and how we can face recovery together toward a world view and experience that can be more human and empathetic and less focused on aspects of life like materialism. This book was written at a time during my own recovery from schizophrenia or spiritual emergency (depending on your beliefs) and takes into consideration a wide net of topics to tie together a number of arguments for change. This writing addresses the increasing pace of the world, mental illness, science, spirituality, societal change, from the point of view of a symptom bearer. A symptom bearer is one that is sensitive to elements of a greater system. This causes the symptom bearer to express the issues with the greater system through thought and behavior. Part of the result of my symptom bearing experience of greater systems is this writing which addresses some of the difficulties I have faced myself. This writing is my letter to all those that need a logical kick in the butt to consider what how and why we are all connected and in this world together.
